On day 2 we finished up the house we had began breaking the previous day. We continued breaking the first floor where we were joined by team Charlie and Golf. We took turns in the breaking and removing of rubble. We had a meeting with Justin who explained to us why we were removing the screed, which were that it was weak and electrical conduits needed to be put in place before the screed was done.

The first floor was easily broken because we had gotten practice from the day before, so there was no need for chiseling. We frequently had to spray the area which we were breaking with some water because it was a bit dusty. We were well informed on the importance of a clean site, so we also did some house keeping.

After lunch we completed the breaking of the first house and began breaking the screed in another house. This time around we were well informed and began on the first floor. We only went as far as getting one room done. But we alternated between the two rooms to allow dust to settle while we worked in the other room.

Towards the end of the day we were all a bit worn out, but we pushed on. We did it all successfully and with the help of other teams we learnt a lot on team work and made some great friendships. We were able to maintain a balance between productivity and good relations between one another, and it was motivating.
