Day 4- We arrived at the building site around 9am and was given a quick brief on what the different groups have to complete for the day. It was our teams turn do the site clearance and setting up of the future buildings that will be constructed. The day before we had completed the excavations. We were then instructed to fetch the relevant equipment required for the site clearance and the setting up

The equipment given was 2 spades, rake, wheel burrow, string, chalk and plan of the building site. Before beginning the site clearance we first discussed as a team what each member would contribute in the site clearance. Site clearance is the removal of all shrubs , vegetation, flowers etc. This is done before the setting up. We all took turns with the removing the shrubs and vegetation using the shovel and rake. We also carted away the shrubs using the wheel burrow.

The site clearance did take up a few hours however we managed to work together and clear the site. Some of the shrubs were difficult to remove however we managed to remove it with the force of a shovel. After the site clearance we began the setting up of the site

After the clearance of the site we first measured and calculated where we would put out the string for the site clearance. We then managed to correctly work out the measurements for the site clearance. We then measured the strings and started the setting out of our site. We knocked in a few nails and attached the strings. We did not complete the setting out and planned to finish it the next day. We completed the day by learning how to correctly clear a site and how to set out a site.
